Scott spent eight years working in agriculture before beginning a new chapter in his career. He later joined Griffith Agencies, becoming part of what was described as the “family business” and building a career in insurance. Through his work, he developed lasting relationships with clients and community members who remembered him as knowledgeable, personable and genuinely interested in the people he served.

In 2009, Scott married Jen, and together they built a life centered on their loved ones. The couple had three children, who became a major focus of their lives. Relatives, sports and school kept them busy, while their home and family life were described as being filled with love.
